EA FC 26 - Recreating the Epic Real Madrid vs Barcelona El Clásico Experience - makabaka - 31.10.2025

On October 26th, Real Madrid narrowly defeated their arch-rivals Barcelona 2-1 in El Clásico at their home stadium, the Bernabéu. The result was heartbreaking for countless Barcelona fans, but we also witnessed brilliant performances from Mbappé and Bellingham. This made me wonder if we could recreate that atmosphere in EA FC 26.

First, let's look at some major changes in FC 26 after the update:

Completely revamped gameplay, more agile dribbling, upgraded AI that makes player positioning less rigid, and smoother screen transitions.

The introduction of two preset modes, Competitive Mode and Realistic Mode, caters to different player needs. Competitive Mode has a faster overall pace and demands higher levels of player skill, while Realistic Mode requires more tactical awareness.

Changes to goalkeeper animations, new players, improved ball movement, and smoother cutscenes.

A vast licensing pool, with licenses for over 20,000 players, 750 clubs, and 120 stadiums.

All of this demonstrates EA's emphasis on player experience, which is largely reflected in capturing the atmosphere of major tournaments. This is extremely challenging; when replaying the match, I always struggled to immerse myself in it. Although EA has made some optimizations to the celebrations and stadium atmosphere, it's still difficult to compare with the real atmosphere.

Of course, replaying this match wasn't just about experiencing the atmosphere; the important thing was to apply the lessons learned from the Real Madrid vs. Barcelona match in FC 26. I've summarized a few points:

1. Gain an early advantage as quickly as possible: In the 22nd minute, Mbappe, assisted by Bellingham, scored the opening goal, setting the tone for the entire match. In the game, choosing aggressive players in the first half to lead the opponent into your rhythm, forcing them into a defensive posture and preventing them from making any moves, which would tip the scales of victory in your favor.

2. Seize opportunities to change the momentum: Barcelona capitalized on an opponent's mistake to equalize before the end of the first half—a very brilliant counter-attack. In the game, after scoring, it's crucial to remain calm, maintain your position, and skillfully utilize your midfield and defense to prepare for potential counter-attacks! It's recommended to practice extensively in the realistic preset mode before applying these techniques in actual matches.

3. Mental fortitude and stable tactics determine victory: In the final moments of the match, Pedri was sent off with a red card, leaving Barcelona with only ten men against Real Madrid's impenetrable defense, making the chance of equalizing extremely slim. In the game, as the match progresses to its climax, players' stamina and mental state are often depleted. Players need to utilize tactics such as substitutions and defensive rotations to maintain composure and avoid leaving the outcome to luck in the final minutes.

However, various unexpected events can occur in the game, and these bugs can significantly impact our chances of victory.

Previously, in our group, we often saw players discussing common bugs, such as abnormal AI behavior and unpredictable football trajectories. These require improvement from EA. If you encounter other bugs, feel free to join our Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Discord groups to discuss and share your experiences.

Players interested in this article can also simulate their favorite matches in FC 26, just like I did. It can be a lot of fun, although it requires spending a considerable amount of FC 26 Coins to exchange for players. But fighting alongside your favorite players makes it all worthwhile.
